The brief
Build a genuinely free image converter that competes with tools whose business model is uploading your files to a server, and make the privacy difference the reason people choose it.
What I built
- Conversion runs on the Canvas and WebAssembly APIs inside the visitor’s own browser. Nothing is uploaded, which is a fact about the architecture rather than a promise in a privacy policy.
- Reads 11 formats and writes 7 — JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, BMP, ICO, SVG and PDF — with batch conversion up to 50 MB a file.
- A page per conversion pair, so someone searching for one specific conversion lands on a page about exactly that rather than a generic homepage.
