What is FAQ Schema Generator?

FAQPage markup describes a list of questions and answers on a page. When Google chooses to use it, the questions can appear expandable directly in the search result, taking up more space and answering people before they click.

Google narrowed FAQ rich results significantly in 2023 — they now appear mainly for well-known authoritative government and health sites. The markup is still worth adding for the structural clarity, but expect the rich result itself only rarely.

Best practices

Every question and answer in the markup must be visible on the page.
Answer properly. One-line answers rarely earn anything.
Use real questions people ask, not keyword variations dressed as questions.
Do not put FAQ markup on a page whose main purpose is not the FAQ.
Avoid promotional links inside answers — Google’s guidelines discourage them.

How many questions should I add?

As many as genuinely belong on the page. There is no minimum, and padding with weak questions makes the page worse for the people you wrote it for.
